Welcome to St Mark's Dukinfield

St Mark's is an Anglican church. We are a small and growing, family-friendly group who would love to welcome you. Why not pop in one Sunday morning? Our main Sunday service starts at 10.30 am and afterwards, we gather in the hall for tea and coffee and catch up with one another's news. Here are some of the features of life at St Mark's:

  • there's a special children's corner for little ones to play in during the service
  • we arrange a range of social events, trips and concerts
  • we run bible study groups and an Alpha Course
  • we have a Mothers' Union
  • we host an annual Christmas Tree Festival

New developments

St Mark's was completed and consecrated in 1847. The church is dedicated to St Mark, one of the four gospel writers and one of Jesus' disciples. The symbol for St Mark is a winged lion representing the kingship of Jesus.

Today we are discovering afresh what it means to be a follower of Jesus in all the surprises and ups and downs of daily life.

After years of decline, St Mark's is once again becoming like the symbol of its patron saint - a strong lion. New developments are taking place in our parish and in our church community and we are excited about the future God has in store for us.
