Dates for 2010

10:30 am, Sunday, 14 March: Mothering Sunday Service. This year’s service also coincides with the MU Wave of Prayer; new members will be admitted into our branch of the Mothers’ Union.

10:15 am, Sunday, 28 March: Palm Sunday. The service starts outside Wellington Street Methodist Church; we then walk together to St Mark’s for the service at 10:30 am.

Monday, 29 March: meditation in church with prayers.

6:30 pm, Maundy Thursday, 1 April: Last Supper with Communion. We share a meal together in the hall as part of this event.

Midday service on Good Friday: Meditation at the Cross. A traditional service of prayers and hymns.

10:30 am, Holy Saturday, 3 April: Sponsored walk. We start from Daisy Nook Country Park; come and enjoy some healthy exercise and raise money for St Mark’s at the same time.

6:00 am, Easter Sunday, 4 April: Dawn service.

10:30 am, Easter Sunday, 4 April: Communion service.

2:30 pm, Sunday, 11 April: Songs of Praise.

10:30 am, Sunday, 25 April: Patronal Festival. Our annual celebration of St Mark, our Patron Saint. Preacher Archdeacon Richard Gillings, followed by lunch.

12:30 pm, Sunday, 9 May: Treasure Hunt. Hunt the clues scattered around the Dukinfield/ Stalybridge/Ashton area by car, then back to the hall for refreshments.

Sunday, 23 May: Whit Walk. The annual procession to Dukinfield Town Hall with Adamson’s Band. All welcome to join us.

Saturday, 26 June: Summer Fair. In the Vicarage grounds with stalls, children’s activities and refreshments; fundraising and fun.

6:00 pm, Sunday, 18 July: Parish Barbecue. In the Vicarage garden with music and food. A new event just to relax together.

Sunday, 26 September: Back to Church Sunday. With Bishop Robert; invite a friend to come to church; the service will be followed by our popular parish lunch.

Saturday, 2 October: Variety night concert. A musical event in the hall on Saturday night.

Sunday, 17 October: Harvest with soup lunch. A simple meal together to give thanks for the harvest.

Sunday, 31 October: All Saints Day with All Soul’s Remembrance.

Friday, 5 November: Bonfire Party at the Vicarage. Sparklers, fireworks and a bonfire in the garden, followed by food and fun in the hall.

Sunday, 14 November: Remembrance Sunday.

Friday, 26 November, to Monday, 29 November: Christmas Festival at St Mark’s. Our popular festival with decorated trees in the church and a Christmas market with stalls and refreshments in the hall. Entertainment laid on too over the whole weekend.
